Principal: Ernst-Martin Heel
School provider and great-grandson of the school founder
Born in the ‘Mittelhaus’ of the Ernst-Kalkuhl Grammar School in 1950, Ernst-Martin Heel literally inherited responsibility for the school in his cradle. Following his studies of German and History at the Universities of Bonn and Freiburg and teaching experience at the Ursulinen School in Wipperfürth, he lived and worked for half a year in the boarding house of our school before taking up a classroom teaching position. Together with his father, headmaster Karl-Ferdinand Heel, he ran the boarding school and from 1993 on shared legal and administrative responsibility for the whole school. After the death of Karl-Ferdinand Heel in 2001, he took over as managing director of the ‘Private Ernst-Kalkuhl Gymnasium’ (civil law partnership), which he runs together with his brother, Franz-Christoph Heel.
